Longford Dance Fest 2012
The weekend after Easter 12, 13 and 14 April the Longford Dance Fest 2012 takes place in Longford Town Square,  Backstage Theatre Longford and Shawbrook.
The Festival opens with a Flashmob at 1pm in the town square. Halleluya by Handel and Leonard Cohen(sung live by Melanie Zink)

On Friday morning from 10am to 1pm the ballet competition takes place.   

A Ballet expert will judge three age categories (10 to 12, 13 to 15 and 16 to 19).

2012 will in include:
A solo by Benito
And

 Shawbrook Youth Dance's Pearly B, a new piece by Chantal and Kristina

In the new rehearsal space in Backstage a performing space will be in action  called the Free Stage. The MC's are the poopular Fidget Feet Dance Company.

At lunch break there is going to be a "free stage" where dancers can perform anything they want as long as they have filled out an apllication to be programme and hand Jym a burnt cd at 1pm. Come and surprise us:

Any age/any style will be welcomed  it just takes courage!

At 3pm our new Contemporary dance competition will be held, to be programmed you need to send in an application with DVD of piece or come to sahwbrook for audition.

At 4.00pm Youth Dance Companies will perform including Shawbrook Youth Dance will perform two pieces  mentor Kristina Sorenson and Chantal McCormick. 

Afterwards the Awards Ceremony will take place at 5pm

Then we take a deserved break before the evening presentation of  the real
FESTIVAL
