“More Intricate and Fantastic Than the Thing Itself” The project I will continue to work on, titled “More Intricate and Fantastic Than the Thing Itself”, during my residency at Shawbrook will explore the implications and dangers of our current access to technology that reveals our genetic coding and ultimately ask the questions: What makes us who we are? Our DNA? Our stories? Our decisions? What we know? Or what we don’t know?
Victoria Siegrist is a theatre practitioner, educator, and writer currently based in New York City. She has experience working as a teaching theatre artist in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. She has performed and devised with collaborators both nationally and internationally. As a theatre practitioner, her practice focuses on creating performances that explore life in the contexts of gender, culture, autobiography, and representations of authenticity through fiction. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre from Western Kentucky University in 2012 where she was named the Scholar of the College and completed a MLitt in Theatre Practices at the University of Glasgow in 2016 where she was the recipient of the University Trust International Leadership Scholarship. Mags Keohane is a director, dramaturg, theatre maker and producer. She is currently drawn to site- responsive practice, personal stories and community focused work. Most recently Mags produced ‘Idlewild’ by Jimmy Murphy and ‘Spliced’ by Timmy Creed. Mags is a currently participating in Druid's FUEL residency programme.
