Michelle Cahill takes up residence at Shawbrook for two weeks in November to create and preview her new solo work Thirteen Steps to the Attic.
In an attic, in a house, with only letters for company, a woman is led by a man to take a precarious step into the vibrancy of her imagination. Exploring intimacy between Him and Her, connected by words on a page and interspersed with moments of tenderness and humour, Thirteen Steps to the Attic examines the unknown, the invisible desire that was unquestionably real...in the Attic.
I breathe in,
I hold my breath,
And Wait for the silences…
Thirteen Steps to the Attic is a collaboration with Yorkshire based director Rowan Tolley. Funded by The Arts Council Dance Project Award. Supported by Firkin Crane Production Residency, Shawbrook, Dance Ireland and Tipperary TRY! Residency
